Ġnien il-Misraħ Karmelitani has transformed a previously tarmacked area of around 1,150m² into an accessible recreational garden for the Żurrieq community. The project includes 40 mature trees, 1,620 shrubs, solar lighting, seating areas, and a rainwater collection reservoir that supports the irrigation of indigenous trees and shrubs. The garden also incorporates a restored Maltese luzzu, donated in memory of Gianni “il-Lixxu” Tonna, adding a local cultural element to the space. An area for yoga and outdoor exercise was also included, encouraging residents to use the garden for wellbeing, relaxation, and community life.
