A New Green Recreational Space in the Għarram Area for Residents and Their Pets
Located in the Għarram area of Ħaż-Żebbuġ, this project transformed an underutilised urban site into a new community green space featuring the locality’s first dedicated dog park. The project introduced separate recreational areas for dogs and visitors, specialised play equipment, shaded seating areas, indigenous and pet-safe planting, and sustainable infrastructure including a 200-cubic-metre rainwater reservoir and irrigation system. Designed to improve accessibility, biodiversity, and quality of life within the locality, the project created a safe and inclusive open space for both residents and their pets.
