Project Green launches an Expression of Interest for owners of fields and agricultural land to plant more trees across Malta and Gozo

Project Green has launched an Expression of Interest inviting owners of fields and agricultural land in Malta and Gozo to register their interest in partnering with Project Green to plant trees on their land as part of a nationwide tree planting initiative. The trees would be supplied by Project Green free of charge.
The initiative aims to promote long-term environmental sustainability and afforestation, helping to enhance climate resilience and contribute to a greener, healthier Malta and Gozo.
Beyond its environmental objectives, the expression of interest seeks to strengthen collaboration between Project Green, local communities, and environmental stakeholders, while encouraging shared responsibility for the protection of the environment and the preservation of open green spaces at the heart of Maltese communities.
Project Greens Chief Executive Officer, Joseph Cuschieri, explained that this initiative is part of a wider series of projects designed to beautify Maltas natural landscape and improve national climate and environmental resilience. This expression of interest is intended to enable large scale afforestation projects through a partnership between landowners and Project Green. Such schemes have the potential to enhance the quality of life within our communities in the long term,” said Cuschieri.
Owners of fields and agricultural land who wish to register their interest may do so by visiting the Project Green website (www.projectgreen.mt) and completing the
online form available.
The form also includes a list of eligible tree species available through the scheme.
