A Hidden Gem Within the Santa Margherita Lines, Designed for All to Enjoy

Walking through Vittoriosa feels like stepping back in time with its narrow streets and stunning sea views. The city, rich in history and culture, also offers a peaceful environment to relax. One of its hidden gems is the Santa Margherita Lines, a 17th-century fortification designed by the Order of Saint John for defense. Part of these fortifications has been transformed into a public green space called Ġnien Fuq il-Glażiż. Once a neglected forest, the 9,000m² garden now offers picnic areas, a unique play area with climbing ropes and a zipline, and a dog park. The garden promotes sustainability with eco-friendly materials and solar-powered lighting.
