Many families participated in various activities organised by different entities within the Ministry for the Environment, Energy and Public Cleanliness, with the aim of promoting the use of open spaces and raising environmental awareness among the public during the Easter holidays.

In total, attendance for these activities exceeded 1,500 people.
“It is encouraging to see so many families, parents, and children spending time in nature. We are witnessing the benefits of the open spaces we are creating, as well as the dedicated work being carried out by all the involved entities,” said Minister for the Environment, Energy and Public Cleanliness Miriam Dalli.
One of the main events was Wirt in-Natura: Spring Edition, organised by Project Green at the Buskett Gardens, which attracted hundreds of participants. This activity offered families the chance to enjoy green spaces through educational and recreational activities, including the popular Egg Hunt, Police (K9 Unit) shows, as well as music and folklore performances by Tikka Banda and Ta’ Varna Folk Group. In collaboration with various entities such as the Environment and Resources Authority (ERA), Circular Economy Malta, Ambjent Malta, Saving Our Blue, and the Energy and Water Agency (EWA), the event was filled with initiatives designed to raise awareness about sustainability and climate change.
Ambjent Malta also organised the Easter Adventure Challenge at Buskett, where participants took part in a series of creative and educational games and competitions, all with environmental and cultural themes. The Water Services Corporation participated as well, providing visitors with tap water from their water buggy. Additionally, Ambjent Malta held an educational walk on the island of Comino, led by the scientific team and Nature Stewards of Ambjent Malta. During this event, participants were informed about the island’s biodiversity conservation and restoration efforts, including the ecological importance of its coastline and marine environment, as Comino is classified as a Marine Protected Area (MPA).
At Chadwick Lakes, the Energy and Water Agency organised an Easter Egg Hunt that gathered hundreds of people for nature walks and educational games. A free shuttle service was provided to ensure easy access for attendees. This activity also helped raise awareness about the ecological restoration of the valley.
WasteServ hosted an interactive workshop for children called Eco Magic at the ECOHIVE Academy in Marsaskala. This workshop combined lessons on waste reduction with magic tricks, delivering an educational yet entertaining message.
