The initiative is open to government and church educational institutions.
We’re looking for projects that make a real difference to your school environment and involve your school community. Strong proposals should show:
- A new or renewed landscaped green area that students and educators can actively use for outdoor learning.
- Innovative and creative approaches, whether in the space’s design, sustainability features, or educational use.
- Proposal ideas and concepts from your school community, especially concepts developed with input from students and educators.
No, the green spaces should be within the school grounds, as they are meant to enhance the learning environment and students’ and educators’ well-being.
Yes. Project Green will offer both funding and technical support, including training, garden design advice, and guidance on plant selection and sustainable practices, provided by our architects and environmental scientists.
Only for those projects estimated above €50,000 (excluding VAT) must the school make the space accessible to the public after school hours, for at least 4 hours daily. Logistics can be discussed and tailored to each school’s context.
This will be addressed on a case-by-case basis during the project’s development stage. The maintenance approach will depend on the size and nature of the project, as well as the specific needs and resources of the school.
