About the Role
The Head – Project Support is responsible for leading and managing a multidisciplinary team consisting of Draughtspersons, Land Surveyors, and Quantity Surveyors. This role involves overseeing the provision of technical and administrative support to ensure successful project execution for all Projects within Project Green. The Head of Project Support will coordinate activities, manage resources, and ensure that all support functions meet project requirements, timelines, and quality standards.
As Head – Project Support, your key responsibilities include:
1. Team Leadership and Management
• Lead and mentor a team of Draughtspersons, Land Surveyors, and Quantity Surveyors.
• Develop and implement team goals, objectives, and performance standards.
• Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback.
• Facilitate professional development opportunities for team members.
2. Project Planning and Coordination
• Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to define project scope, deliverables, and timelines.
• Develop detailed plans for technical and support activities related to draughting, surveying, and quantity surveying.
• Coordinate with various departments to ensure that all project support activities align with project requirements.
3. Technical Oversight
• Oversee the preparation of detailed technical drawings, land survey reports, and quantity estimates.
• Ensure accuracy and compliance with industry standards, regulations, and project specifications.
• Review and approve technical documents, reports, and survey results.
4. Resource Management
• Allocate resources effectively to meet project demands and deadlines.
• Manage budgets for project support activities, including procurement of tools, software, and equipment.
• Monitor and control project support costs to stay within budgetary constraints.
5. Quality Assurance
• Implement quality control procedures to ensure that all project support activities meet the highest standards.
• Conduct regular audits of project support processes and deliverables.
• Address and resolve any issues or discrepancies identified in the support functions.
6. Stakeholder Communication
• Serve as the primary point of contact for external consultants, clients, and other stakeholders regarding project support matters.
• Facilitate effective communication between the support team and other project teams.
• Prepare and present progress reports, technical documentation, and other project support-related information.
7. Process Improvement
• Identify opportunities for improving project support processes and practices.
• Develop and implement best practices and innovative solutions to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
• Stay current with industry trends and technological advancements relevant to draughting, surveying, and quantity surveying.
About You
Project Green is looking for a Head – Project Support of the highest personal and professional integrity, principle, and knowledge, earning respect and support when making decisions and choices. The selected candidate needs to be a self-directed person with a strong work ethic and high expectations for performance; a person leading by example and sets strong professional and personal standards for every activity.
The role requires the possession of a warrant to practice as a Perit. You will also possess a minimum of 7 years of experience in project support roles within the construction or engineering industry, as well as proven experience in a leadership or a managerial role, with a track record of successfully managing teams and projects.
The Head – Project Support is required to have strong leadership and team management abilities, excellent technical knowledge of draughting, surveying, and quantity surveying practices, proficiency in industry-standard software and tools (AutoCAD, surveying equipment, quantity take-off software, etc.), strong organisational and project management skills, effective communication and interpersonal skills, as well as analytical and problem-solving abilities.
